I spoke with Aarthi Swaminathan at MarketWatch about mortgage rates approaching 7% and what that means for buyers and the broader housing market.
While 7% remains an important psychological threshold, buyers have been adjusting to elevated rates for some time. We’re also seeing more interest in adjustable-rate mortgages as buyers look for ways to reduce their initial monthly payments.
My earlier experience in mortgage-backed securities trading, underwriting and mortgage banking continues to inform how I think about interest rates and advise buyers and sellers in today’s market.
Thank you, Aarthi, for including my perspective.
